On Friday October the 30th, on the occasion of the celebration of our friends over at Proviaggiarchitettura‘s first twenty years, Dolomiti Contemporanee (DC) offers an event at the central headquarters of the IUAV University, in Venice: the Tolentini complex.
At 4 PM, on Friday the 30th, at the Auditorium, Progettoborca, the platform of enhancement and functional redefinition of the former Eni Village of Borca di Cadore, and in particular of its, to this day, non-utilized parts (like the Colonia, or summer camp building), active since 2014, will be presented.
Many will intervene in the event, among which the curator of Dolomiti Contemporanee, a representative of Minoter, the society that currently owns the site, some IUAV teachers (architecture and visual arts), some teachers, artists and students from the Fine Arts Academy of Venice and the Fondazione Bevilaqua La Masa, two Venetian partners already at work on DC and Progettoborca‘s active sites.
Today, in the Village of Borca, an international residency is currently active, hosting dozens of artists from all over Europe.
In this extraordinary site, built from the 50s onwards thanks to the innovative due Enrico Mattei-Edoardo Gellner, all the activities, artistic, cultural and linked to different spheres and themes relative to the regenerative practices (rebranding strategies, functional redefinition, economy of culture, involvement of innovative businesses and the local governance, networks of support implementation) are today integrated, searching for an asset that may concretely favour the redefining and the reusing of this precious and only partially appraised resource.
Here and here and here and here some videos outlining the project.
Here an online Press Review.
